THE FASCINATING ITALIAN RIVIERA, ROMANTIC ATMOSPHERE, ELEGANT WEDDING LOCATIONS AND BREATHTAKING LANDSCAPES
If an idyllic setting and a romantic atmosphere are what you are looking for, a charming wedding villa on the Italian Riviera will suit you just perfectly!
Liguria is just a new name to define Italian Riviera, one of the smallest and most intriguing state of Italy, which is located in the extreme northwest, close to the border with France. Known for its villages overlooking the sea, it stretches from the coast of France to the north of Tuscany.
This region, is always considered a terrace overlooking the sea, provides the best locations to get married in Italy. Beyond the many facilities for the spouses and the families, Liguria is the perfect backdrop for destination weddings. The background with soft hills and the small villages will make your memories unbelievable.
Portofino is one of those picture-perfect, postcard locations you recognise immediately. You can’t mistake her iconic U-shaped port, flanked by a tidy row of similar-sized, multi-coloured buildings. Boats and yachts are continually bobbing in the harbour, and it just seems so darned cute. But although it fills up with trippers, this prettily-painted harbour settlement still exudes an air of tranquillity, and it’s certainly a must for anyone.
Set amid some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet, these five ingeniously constructed fishing villages can bolster the most jaded of spirits. A Unesco World Heritage Site since 1997, Cinque Terre (as the Five Lands) still remote authenticity, with few roads, perfectly preserved architecture and a network of stunning coastal and mountain trails. The most iconic highlight of the Italian Riviera, the pictures speak for themselves !
Portofino and Cinque Terre might get all the attention in this region of Italy but check into the village of Camogli to soak it all in at a slower pace. Camogli is astonishingly charming. It is as if the entire town was constructed under one rule : paint all the houses in varying shades of pastel, make sure every building has a sea view and dear god make sure it has a robust culinary culture! With this description, surely you can’t hesitate any longer.
Lerici is a town that was destined to be a destination. How could a pastel city perched on the Gulf of Poets not attract lovers ? Called the Pearl of the Gulf, Lerici is indeed a gem, very picturesque with its curvy coves, rocky cliffs, sparkling sea and cheerfully painted houses. Lerici holds all the same appeal as Cinque Terre but without the crowds – and with bigger beaches! There are hiking trails, a pretty boat harbor, perfect panoramas and abundant sunshine.
Portovenere, a small town in Liguria, is one of the most beautiful places on the west coast of Italy. This is a place where you can access the same whispering beauty, in a breathtaking town less ravaged by mass tourism. Upon first site, you’ll revel at the colorful array architecture next to the water, the buildings in red, pinks and yellows that looks almost as if an ancient god squeezed them tightly together in his hands.
Genoa is one of these fascinating Italian cities that remain off the tourist radar: world famous as the birth place of Christopher Columbus. Wandering the narrow caruggi alleyways of Genoa is a bit like solving a medieval labyrinth. In the heart of the Italian port city lies a main square with a beautiful fountain and a perimeter lined with historic buildings. The seaside neighborhood is vision of pink and yellow buildings that brighten up this lovely fishing village.
